eLearning
DukeStar is venturing into the field of eLearning to cater to the needs of the changing technology and upgrade the skills of professionals with the latest trends prevalent in the market by providing them on the job training through WBT, CBT or blended form of learning.
Why eLearning
William Horton’s straightforward definition of eLearning says it all: ”eLearning is the use of Web and Internet technologies to create experience that educate our fellow human beings” “(Horton,2001a). Notice the broad scope of this definition, especially if you originally thought that eLearning only referred to educating the employees within your organization. Your first eLearning ventures may very well target an internal audience, but don’t be surprised if you’re soon in the business of educating business partners, suppliers, and customers through eLearning!
Like the web itself, the potential for eLearning is practically unlimited, gaining momentum as more people become eLearners and begin to expect and demand engaging web-enabled interactive learning experiences.
Goals of eLearning
eLearning tries to address the growing need for just-in–time learning, to provide performance support to a widely dispersed workforce, to accommodate rapidly changing course content and to leverage course development costs through saving in travel costs and the ability to disperse learning content to many participants within a narrow timeframe.
